Now that we’ve gotten a taste of summer warmth here in Toronto, we can’t get enough. With gloomy winter days in the rearview mirror, we officially declare that patio season has begun!
Toronto is a city full to the brim with outdoor options for dinner and drinks, which can make choosing a patio challenging. If you’re not sure where to start, here are some of our favourite patios in the city:
Oretta Midtown
Oretta’s King West patio has been an established favourite in the neighbourhood for brunch and dinner alike for quite some time. After making a splash with its opening in February, Oretta’s new Midtown location has opened one of the prettiest patios in the neighbourhood.
This brand new patio space is a seamless extension of the restaurant’s stylish interior and has plenty of seating. Oretta’s familiar aesthetic is evident in the pairing of soft pastels and more rustic finishes with a characteristic pop of colour from the towering greenery and lush magenta flowers. The only thing more instagrammable than the patio is the cocktails!
Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol
Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol
Eataly Toronto’s Il Patio di Eataly with Aperol returns this year with a new al fresco addition - the Boor St. bar. The original Bay St. patio offers a sunny spot to grab dinner and drinks, while the new Bloor St. space serves up regional wines, beers from Birroteca by Indie Alehouse and even a build-your-own gin & tonic menu.
The new patio on Bloor St. is a separate, more intimate space with a beverage-focused menu, offering walk-in service only. Its convenient location and friendly setting make it the perfect new spot to stop for afternoon drinks or happy hour with friends.
EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace
EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace @ The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto
For those looking to indulge in an upscale patio experience, EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace is the epitome of outdoor dining luxury. Heated and partially covered, there’s no need to worry about the forecast for an evening out as this space is prepared for any weather. Some highlights of this gastropub-inspired patio include lush greenery, sleek fireplaces, views of the CN Tower and Simcoe Park, and an open-air kitchen with a stone fire oven and canopied bar.
Perfect for cocktail connoisseurs, EPOCH’s cocktail program was designed by mixologist Jason Griffin and uses creative cocktails to transport patrons through the eras. Though EPOCH’s patio opened in September of last year, this is the city’s first chance to experience the space during peak patio season.
Where will you be grabbing a bite or taking a sip this patio season?
