INTERN
SUGO Communications is looking for a stellar Intern with exceptional organizational/communication skills who will thrive in a creative and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES and ONGOING TRAINING:

Researching media contacts and updating SUGO's media list

Media monitoring and clipping
-
Updating coverage reports
-
Participating in media events
-
Client research and development
-
Developing media and influencers lists and conducting outreach

Assisting in administrative tasks such as:

Coordinating product mailouts

Assembly of media kits
-
Monitoring the tasks and schedules of several people

Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Recently graduated from or currently enrolled in a program in public relations or a related discipline
-
Previous internship experience is a bonus

Familiar with creating TikToks and/or Reels
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner

Extremely organized with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with very tight deadlines

Incumbent must have the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Extremely proactive with the ability to provide prompt follow-through on projects

An organized self-starter capable of working alone or in groups

ACCOUNT MANAGER
SUGO Communications is looking for a PR Manager with superior interpersonal and communication skills who thrives in a creative and fast-paced environment. You have 4+ years of PR experience in food and lifestyle-related clients in an agency setting, a proven track record in helping win, retain and grow new accounts, managing client portfolios and motivating a team. You also thrive in designing and delivering fabulous PR campaigns that make a real impact and garner amazing results. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report directly to the Director of Public Relations

Play a leading role in managing the planning, development, implementation, and execution of the public relations and communications programs that are created for our clients

Create thorough, well-thought-out, creative public relations and event plans for clients
-
Assign, supervise, and review the activities of the SUGO team
-
Create, edit, deploy, and pitch press releases
-
Take the lead in new business acquisitions; research, creating pitches, proposals, and budgets.

Build and expand upon relationships with members of the media, continually positioning SUGO. clients as top-of-mind

Create, monitor, and manage client and SUGO budgets

Provide new business/business development support
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

4+ years’ experience in PR in an agency setting

Experience working with food and lifestyle brands

Strong knowledge of food industry media both B2B and B2C

Strong relationships with local and national lifestyle media

Proven ability to manage multiple projects with various scopes of work

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report directly to the Account Manager

Work directly with the Account Manager to complete tasks, ensure PR plans stay on track, and achieve desired success

Generate press coverage for clients’ programming, as assigned

Write, edit and circulate press releases, media information packages, and other communications materials
-
Monitor and manage all social media initiatives for SUGO Communications and its clients
-
Update the SUGO blog as scheduled
-
Locate and track all media mentions and file accordingly
-
Prepare accurate, thorough and timely publicity reports and post-mortem reports for internal and external audiences

Ongoing monitoring and organization of contact database
-
Administer the highest level of quality in all work
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years experience working in public relations

Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, journalism or a public relations-related discipline

Agency experience a must (boutique or corporate). Previous experience in a food-related industry a bonus

Knowledge of major food and lifestyle media throughout Canada

Experience in and proven understanding and successes in media relations

Capable of demonstrating strong diplomatic and critical listening skills as well as superior analytical and reasoning skills
